If you haven’t already, you must go and see Vivid for its 10th year of spectacular lights, music and ideas. Running over 23 nights ending on the 16th of June there are so many installations to check out all across Sydney – both free and paid events. Skylark

Skylark, created by Ian Reed of 32 Hundred Lighting, is a vast play of light incorporating interactive lighting of the bridge and Circular Quay skyscrapers. For the first time in Sydney Vivid history it incorporates a new, custom-built laser double the strength of any laser ever seen in Sydney Harbour. It will be positioned on top of the Sydney Harbour Bridge and its beams will reach all around the Harbour.

The Garden of Sweeties

A magical installation that is very popular with the kids, The Garden of Sweeties invites families and children to learn more about renewable energy in the form of solar panels, luminescent powder and mechanical energy. Represented in lollipops, striped candy canes and sweets scattered across a green corner of First Fleet Park.

Tumbalong Lights

Tumbalong Lights is a collection of four under the sea themed installations to allow families and children to interact in awe and inspire fun and playfulness. The experiences will enchant children and those who are just young at heart with its innovative and inclusive design principles. Friday and Saturday nights will also feature a fireworks display at 8pm.

Game Changer: Dan Goods – NASA & CREATIVITY

Dan Goods is the director of the Museum of Awe and the visual strategist for NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory.
